Moments In Time from the last 2 weeks

(I’m playing catch up because due to being ‘sick’ over the last week I did not get around to posting Sunday. It slipped my mind. This should have been a clue that something was amiss, I tend to get foggy headed prior to a flare.)

I WANT TO SHARE IMAGES I HAVE CAPTURED OVER THE LAST WEEK AND POSTED TO MY INSTAGRAM THAT HIGHLIGHT MOMENTS IN MY LIFE. THERE IS ALSO A SNAZZY WIDGET ON MY SIDEBAR OF MY INSTAGRAM IF YOU ARE VIEWING MY BLOG FROM MY ACTUAL SITE. YOU DON’T GET TO SEE THAT IF YOU ARE VIEWING IT IN READER. SO ONCE A WEEK I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE FUN TO DO A POST AND SHARE A FEW IMAGES THAT I THOUGHT WERE WORTH POINTING OUT FROM MY WEEK. I WILL TRY TO DO THIS EACH SUNDAY. I HOPE YOU ENJOY!

Tiny leaf that blew into my window on the way to breakfast. A little hello from a nearby tree.

Sometimes when I’ve been gone for a while, Zazzle makes it a point to find her way into my lap as soon as she can when I sit down. When I say gone for a while, I’m meaning trips to Doctor’s appointments, and out running errands, and other day-to-day activities. Not trips or anything. It is rather adorable.

These cut flowers were on our table at breakfast. Loved the pinks and greens!

Doug bought me a new oracle deck to add to my collection. They are beautiful and read nicely. They have a nice feel to them and I love working with them. It’s my second Fairy Oracle deck and one of several decks I have in my collection. It was a gift that brightened my day. We had checked out a new shop we had never been to and he bought them for me while we were there. I’m pickier over my decks than I am my shoes by the way. 😉

Zazzle was getting ready to take a nap when I snapped this pic.

The red Tulips on my back deck are blooming. They always make me smile when they return each year.

Since I have lived here I have always found this tree to be so peaceful. Anytime I need to think, meditate, or just want to see and be at peace, this is the tree I find myself drawn to. I’ve spent countless hours sitting under this tree in my time spent living here.

Was having a little fun while outback checking on my containers and the herb garden. Decided it was a flower in the hair kind of afternoon.

This guy… We found him between our house and our neighbor’s house. I offered him a bell pepper but he didn’t want anything to do with it. He was the fastest moving turtle I have ever encountered!

At the park we encountered a large gathering of geese! They were everywhere! Luckily they were not as aggressive as the last group of geese I encountered. These just kind of wandered around and didn’t seem all that bothered with our presence unless you stared too long, then they got a little upset.

While trying to kill a little bit of time before picking Doug up from work I stopped by the park to walk around, and watch the ducks and geese. This was my view from the bench I decided to wait on. Beautiful view. In hindsight it wasn’t shaded enough.

My balloon flower started ballooning! How awesome!

The hubby and I decided to go out driving for a bit to get out of the house and to spend some time together. Plus if you use Waze to navigate you may know they are doing a soccer related game right now so we collected road goodies on our little adventure to help our team out!

My fig tree is absolutely loaded this year! I can not wait until these beauties begin to mature and ripen!

We bought a pineapple and decided to try to root the top. Fresh Pineapple has anti-inflammatory properties btw.

My Balloon Flower bloomed. Here’s a collage of its transformation. I never got around to posting the pictures individually so here they are in a group.

New flip-flops acquired. A nice bright color. Picked these up while at the Target/pharmacy picking up a few prescriptions after appointment #1 of the week.

While waiting on time to go to appointment #2 of the week my Medical ID bracelet arrived in the mail! At least I was able to show it to my Dr. and get his thoughts on it that afternoon.

I felt utterly awful this day and Zazzle made sure I took the day to rest. She’s the best little flare companion one could ask for. She makes sure I stay put when I have a flare and that I rest and recover.

After being cooped up all day I took the moments before a storm to sneak out and enjoy a few moments. Since the sun was hidden behind dense clouds and the temps were low I was hoping it was safe. We think the biggest culprit to this current flare is sun, so I’ve been trying to avoid being out in the sun for long periods of time this week.

My fortune from our lunch this day….I sure hope it’s a pleasant treat.

Personal reading I did for myself this afternoon. It couldn’t have been more accurate. The small print on the cards is as follows 1) you are stronger than you think 2) have courage 3) love who you are. Highly appropriate for the things I am going through right now.

My friend Kat and her sons took a try to NYC a few weeks back. While there they bought me this beautiful leather owl change purse and this gorgeous wrap skirt. I’ll get better pictures of the wrap skirt when I wear it.

Figure I might as well have fun with them if I have to take them. This is batch 2 of my morning pills. These are all Lupus meds. Plaquenil, Imuran and Prednisone. All are recommended to be taken with food so I don’t take them with my other morning pills that I take when I first get out of bed. I’ve never been able to eat when I first wake up so I usually take these a little later in the morning after being awake for a little while.

Transformer sighting outside of the office! Bumblebee!!!!! Yes I completely geeked out about this a little.

  1. Wonderful pics!!! I was so excited to see that we have the same red flower!!! I think it’s a lily of some sort. And it looked lovely behind your ear, you sassy thang!! 🙂

    1. You are right, They are lilies! I have no idea why I got stuck calling them Tulips. I’m just going to blame the sucky flare I’ve been in, because it seems the most probable things to blame stuff on right now. lol Ha thanks, glad some of my sassiness showed through in that picture! 😛

      2. Shhh! Don’t tell everyone I can usually convince people I’m a sweetheart for at least a little while! :-p I hope you are having a great day. I’m off to the doctor in a little while and hoping for better news than last time. *fingers crossed*!!!!!!

      3. OOOOH I’m going to the dr. today too, hoping for good news about the foot/tendon attachment. Scared he’s going to say surgery is needed, but hoping not as I don’t want to totally lose another summer. Bunionectomy laid me up ALL summer last year–son is REALLY hoping there’s no surgery. Can you say boring??

BEST of luck to you, Nicole!!!! The absolute best!

      5. Yay!! Dr. does NOT think I need surgery–he’s weaning me off crutches, wants me to walk without the “boot” a bit at a time, increasing duration until I strengthen the tendon and all is happy again!! Going back in three weeks. How about you???? How was your dr. visit??

      6. Oh awesome news!!! I’ll make a post about my appointment, but it went good. My INR is 3.5 so back in range. I’m on Prednisone for a few more days and I go back Friday to get my INR checked again since I’m still on Prednisone.
